Has Oliver Moore found a permanent role?
Oliver Moore has struggled to find a consistent role on the Blackhawks since being called up on November 3, 2025. Playing anywhere from second line wing along-side Frank Nazar to fourth line center between Nick Foligno and Landon Slaggert, Moore has shown that he is at his best when playing Center.
With the departure of veteran Jason Dickinson at the 2026 trade deadline, Moore now finds himself slotted in as the third line center, a role many Blackhawks fans have wanted for him.

In last night's 6-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Oliver Moore centered Tyler Bertuzzi and Ilya Mikheyev. That line proved to be one of the Blackhawks better performing trios. Moore also spent a significant amount of ice time with Landon Slaggert and newly acquired Andrew Mangiapane (a trio that also looked good together), due to the Blackhawks rolling eleven forwards and seven defensemen. “They kinda did a good jobe of like, grinding and pressure and they’re all a little bit dog on a bone” - Head Coach Jeff Blashill on Oliver Moore with Mangiapane and Slaggert.
Moore had 14:10 of time on ice - his highest since February 4th vs Columbus (15:26). Moore’s speed and tenacity on the puck make him an ideal third line center behind Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar.
It seems as though after 58 career NHL games, Moore has found a role amongst the Blackhawks ever changing forward core.
