The 18th overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft has had an underwhelming year at Boston University, yet he is still an exciting piece of the future. The 6’2” 176lb center has put up 3 goals and 17 points in 26 games this season with the Terriers. A step back from the 18 goals and 32 points he put up at the University of North Dakota during the 24/25 season. Boisvert was a healthy scratch in BU’s East Tournament opening round game vs Vermont. According to a team source, Boisvert was late to a team workout earlier in the week, and since this was not his first infraction, he was scratched.

Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson was in attendance Saturday during BU’s loss to UConn. Leading one to believe “its only a matter of time before pen hits paper there” - Tab Bamford of Bleacher Nation.

One of Boisvert’s biggest strengths is his shot. He has a heavy wrist shot. in his 24 goals combined from this season and last, 10 of them have come from the right circle. A spot where Boisvert calls home on the powerplay. of the remaining 13, 7 of them have come from in the slot. Boisvert uses his size to drive the net and create scoring opportunities. Boisvert has also struggled in the faceoff dot this season, winning 119 draws out of 287 (41.46%). A slight decrease from the 24/25 season where Boisvert won 42.67% of faceoffs.

What to expect from Boisvert in the NHL:

It is highly likely that Boisvert gets a handful of games with the Blackhawks in the final stretch of this season (similar to Ryan Greene, Oliver Moore, and Sam Rinzel last season). However, It is likely that come next season, Boisvert will need to spend significant time in Rockford, learning the pro game. Could Boisvert exceed expectations this season, at camp or at preseason next year and make the roster full time? I suppose, but it’s not likely. Look out for Sacha to be NHL ready around the middle-end of the 2026-2027 season.
